More than a checklist

Useful from the
first page.

Read the examples, fill in a page, or bring one question to the next caregiver conversation. You don’t need to finish the whole pack to start.

  1. Know what this workbook is for

Everyday toddler tantrums, ages 2–4. This is not a treatment plan for sensory overload, trauma, neurodivergent distress, or a clinical condition.

  2. Prepare the adults first

Prepare a realistic starting point and a way to get support.

  3. Notice the setting, not a label

Use observations to prepare. Do not use the sheet to decide why your child is distressed.

  4. A short plan for the moment

Use familiar communication supports. These original scripts are examples, not instructions that fit every child.

  5. Keep the boundary and the connection

These examples concern ordinary limits. They do not replace a child’s individual support or care plan.

  6. Reconnect, then reflect

Choose a calm time. A child does not need to explain the whole event for the adult to reflect on it.

  7. An observation sheet, not a scorecard

Use one event per page. Keep it private and leave out identifying details.

  8. Review together, then choose one step

This is a conversation between adults. It is not a performance review of a child.
