What this policy covers
This policy explains how AskWinnie handles information on this website, through the launch waitlist, and in early-access product experiences. AskWinnie is an AI parenting companion for adult parents and caregivers.
For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@askwinnie.app. Public product access is not yet open. We will update this policy as the service and its providers change.
Information we collect
- Waitlist: your email address, the signup location on our website, signup time, and the version of the launch-email consent you accepted.
- Website operation: hosting providers process technical information such as IP address, request time, browser information, and errors to deliver and secure the website. Our signup endpoint uses a keyed hash of the connection address to limit abuse. It does not store the raw address in the waitlist database.
- Support: your email address and the information you choose to send us. Please avoid sending sensitive information about a child unless it is necessary to resolve your request.
- Early-access product: account details, conversations, family details you provide, approved memories, situations, plans, check-ins, and records of actions taken in the service.
This marketing website does not ask for your child’s name, age, health information, or family conversations.
The printable routine planner
The free routine planner keeps entries in the current browser page. AskWinnie does not send those entries to a server, save them in browser storage, or use them for AI processing. Refreshing or leaving can clear the form. If you print or save a PDF, that copy is handled by your browser, device, or chosen printer. Keep it private and avoid entering sensitive child or family information.
How we use information
We use waitlist information to maintain the launch list and email you about AskWinnie’s launch. Joining does not create a paid subscription, reserve a guaranteed place, or create an app account.
We use technical information to operate the website, diagnose failures, and prevent abuse. Support information is used to answer your request. In the product, information you provide is used to deliver conversations and the features you choose.
Where applicable, launch emails rely on your consent. Operational and security processing supports our legitimate interest in running a reliable service. You can withdraw email consent by contacting us or using an unsubscribe option in a launch email.
Private and shared family data
New signed-in conversations are private to the caregiver who started them. Shared household situations, approved memories, and deliberately shared content can be visible to other authorized caregivers. Older shared household history keeps its existing shared visibility.
Approving a shared plan or excerpt does not make your entire private conversation shared. Review sharing previews and account permissions before confirming an action.
Retention and deletion
We keep waitlist information while operating the launch list, unless you ask us to remove it or withdraw consent. We review the list when launch communications are complete. Rate-limit records are eligible for removal after two hours and are cleaned up on subsequent signup requests. Infrastructure logs may follow separate provider retention periods.
In the app, clearing chat removes the covered conversation text and unshared drafts. It does not automatically delete approved memories, shared excerpts, situations, accepted plans, check-ins, audit records, or provider backups. Saved memories have separate deletion controls.
For account deletion or a broader data request, email us. We may need to verify your identity and authority over shared data before responding. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal obligations, or the rights of other caregivers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information, withdraw waitlist consent, or ask about other rights available where you live. Contact hello@askwinnie.app from the email address associated with your signup or account.
Household owners can export supported household data and manage chat retention in the app. Each caregiver can clear their own private chat. See support and data controls for details.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, or complain to a data protection authority.
Children and security
AskWinnie is intended for adults, not for children to use independently. Caregivers should share only the family information needed for the help they are seeking.
We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect information. No system can promise absolute security. If you believe information has been exposed or a child has signed up directly, contact us.
Policy updates
We will publish changes on this page with a revised date. For material changes affecting consent or your rights, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required. Questions can be sent to hello@askwinnie.app.
